Our History
Aichhorn & Co GMBH was founded in Vienna in 1965 as a family company and gradually established itself as a commercial and manufacturing bridge between Western and Eastern Europe. In 1989, the company opened a representative office in Bulgaria, and in 2000 Aichhorn & Co EOOD. was established in Sofia, with a focus on long-term presence on the Bulgarian market.
Since 2003, the company has taken a strategic direction toward the production of medical devices, initially as a subcontractor for French partners while simultaneously developing its market presence in Bulgaria. The accumulated experience led to the development of its own product line, and in 2011 work began on independent technical solutions for single-use sterile medical sets.
Recent Development
After 2014, the company actively expanded its international presence through participation in key medical exhibitions and gradually entered markets both within and outside the EU. Between 2015 and 2020, sales were realized in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe, including Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Oman, Cyprus, Nigeria, and Jordan. In 2024, participation in BulMedica, SantExpo Paris, and Medica Düsseldorf led to new partnerships in Poland and the Czech Republic, and in 2025 the company marked strong international positioning with participation in World Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan.
Certificates
We hold all required certifications for quality management and medical device safety, including compliance with Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices (MDR). Production is carried out in accordance with ISO 13485:2016 standards for quality management systems in the medical industry, ensuring traceability, sterility, and control at every stage of the process.
